INTRODUCTION

This is a project from the joint workshop held by Chiba University, Dalian University of Technology and Haier Company. The theme was “storage”. We generated new concepts about refrigerator for Chinese market. The brand is Caserte, a high-end brand of Haier.

Our group came up with 2 concepts.

CONCEPT 1 - ROLLING SHELF

Works like a rolling door

We apply the principle of the rolling door to the shelves in the fridge. The self can slide freely on the pathway. When need to store something tall or big, you can simply push the self back. You can even keep the shelf totally back in the storage box to gain a really big space.

CONCEPT 2 - STORE OUTDOOR

In the northeast area of China, people store food outside in winter because of the low temperature. We got the inspiration from it.
